Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) Network

As a part of the ISRO programme, it is planned to install 80 AWS (Automatic Weather Station) in the NE Region for collection of meteorological data..


The state-wise breakup for setting up of AWS is:

  • Arunachal Pradesh- 15,
  • Assam-24, Manipur-6,
  • Meghalaya-16, Mizoram-5,
  • Nagaland-8,
  • Sikkim-2 and
  • Tripura-4

 78 AWS installed and operational
