NESAC is participating in the following Atmospheric and Space Science activities: |

Aerosol Black Carbon study in NER - An Aethalometer has been procured to measure the concentration of Aerosol Black Carbon in Atmosphere. Data collection is continuing at Umiam from July 2006 onwards. A plan has been initiated to study the characteristic of Aerosol Black Carbon at different part of NER considering different local and meteorological condition.

STROM project - NESAC is a participating agency in the STROM (Severe Thunderstorm-Observation and Regional Modeling) coordinated by Dept. of Science & Technology. Two pilot studies have been taken up on thunderstorm formation using Kalpana-1 satellite data.
