Our country is celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, glorifying 75 years independence by organising various programme to showcase the achievements in different sectors since independence. To commemorate this significant occasion NESAC is also organising various programme to showcase the tremendous achievement the country has achieved in space science and technology during past four decades. Organising Space exhibition for the school and college level students is one of such major programme.
NESAC organised a Space exhibition at Barnagar College in Barpeta district, Assam on 25th Sept, 2021, where the ‘Space on Wheel’ Exhibition bus was stationed along with other visual displays. A large number of students from the college and from the nearby schools participated in the programme. The inaugural program at the college auditorium started with the welcome address by Dr. Asim-ul Islam Twaha, Head, Department of English, Barnagar College. He gave a brief background of the program organised as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Dr. B.K. Chakravorty, Principal, Barnagar College chaired the inaugural program and addressed the students, teachers and other participants of the event. Dr. Prakash Kr. Sarma, Vice Principal of the college delivered a motivational speech for the students and stressed on the need of developing scientific acumen among students. Dr. B.K. Handique, Sr. Scientist, NESAC appraised the students about the development of space science and technology in the country and the highlighted the scope for students to choose this advanced science & technology as their career.
Dr. Sarujinee Gogoi, Asst. Professor, Department of Mathematics, Barnagar College coordinated the exhibition from the host institute. The students and teachers from the college and nearby schools thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition and provided very good feedback to the NESAC team.
