NESAC conducts Webinar on Space Transportation System as part of AKAM

An webinar was organized on the topic of “Space Transportation System” (STS) at NESAC on 20th December, 2022 as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (AKAM) celebration. The webinar featured a lecture on the said topic by Dr. Ajit Pratap Singh, Scientist, Space Transportation Program Office, ISRO HQ. In a detailed presentation of One and half hours, he explained fundamentals, technologies and current trends in Space Transportation Systems. He also shed light on the GAGANYAAN Mission of ISRO and its uniqueness as compared to other STSs. The webinar was attended by around 30 staff from NESAC.

Customised training for project officials of the Tripura CREFLAT on RS & GIS in forestry & ecological applications
A customised two weeks course for the Indo German Development Cooperation funded project “Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Adaptive Capacities of Forest Dependent Communities in Tripura” (CFEFLAT) supported by the Tripura Forest Department was organised during 21st April 2025 to 02nd May 2025 by the Forestry & Ecology Division. Twelve officials participated as the first batch of the training programme. The training focussed on the introductory lectures on basics concepts of remote sensing, GIS, image interpretations, map projections and digital image processing with emphasis on hands-on exercises on different aspects of forest cover and land use mapping.
