NESAC Conducted a one-day orientation program on 17th March, 2025 for a group of 50 NDRF personnel on Forest fire prevention and mitigation. During the program a facility visit was arranged at NESAC with special focus on NavIC System, Drone-based monitoring and NERDRR facility. Dr Kasturi Chakraborty, Head, Forestry and Ecology Division and Focal Scientist, Forest Fire Disaster under NERDRR gave a detailed presentation on Remote Sensing-based Forest Fire monitoring.
