53 numbers of 2nd/4th Semester students accompanied by 6 faculty members from the Department of Computer Science of St. Anthonys College, Shillong visited NESAC on 3rd May’2019 as a part of their summer educational tour. A detail presentation was delivered to the students to familiarize them with the general NESAC activities and specifically on various IT based projects and activities being undertaken by the Centre by PS Singh who overall supervised their visit. The students were encouraged to undertake their internships at the Centre and informed about various IT applications areas for taking up their academic projects. Further, visits to NESAC facilities and labs including NAVIC data reception and monitoring facility was also arranged to get better understanding of various scientific activities of the Centre.

A customised two weeks course for the Indo German Development Cooperation funded project “Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Adaptive Capacities of Forest Dependent Communities in Tripura” (CFEFLAT) supported by the Tripura Forest Department was organised during 21st April 2025 to 02nd May 2025 by the Forestry & Ecology Division. Twelve officials participated as the first batch of the training programme. The training focussed on the introductory lectures on basics concepts of remote sensing, GIS, image interpretations, map projections and digital image processing with emphasis on hands-on exercises on different aspects of forest cover and land use mapping.
