On April 25, 2019, 15 students of Dept. of Physics, Saint Mary’s College, Shillong along with their 4 faculty members, visited NESAC as a study tour. Dr Arup Borgohain, Scientist NESAC gave a presentation on various aspects of space technology and its impact on societal development. He also talked about evolution of Indian satellites and payloads developed by ISRO. Ms Arundhati Kundu and her team took the students to various facilities such as Atmospheric science laboratory, UAV laboratory, IRNSS, exhibition area etc. A live demonstration of UAV was also arranged for the students. Faculty members mentioned that different groups of students from Saint Mary’s College hadvisited NESAC in the past which helped them in getting better awareness and understanding about space technology.

A customised two weeks course for the Indo German Development Cooperation funded project “Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Adaptive Capacities of Forest Dependent Communities in Tripura” (CFEFLAT) supported by the Tripura Forest Department was organised during 21st April 2025 to 02nd May 2025 by the Forestry & Ecology Division. Twelve officials participated as the first batch of the training programme. The training focussed on the introductory lectures on basics concepts of remote sensing, GIS, image interpretations, map projections and digital image processing with emphasis on hands-on exercises on different aspects of forest cover and land use mapping.
