The State Council of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Meghalaya organized a 2 day National Science Day Celebration on the 22nd and 23rd March 2023 at State Convention Hall, Shillong. The theme of National Science Day 2023 was “Global Science for Global WellbeingThe students with meritorious performance in Science and Mathematics in Secondary and Higher Secondary examination conducted by Meghalaya State Board during 2021-2022 were felicitated during the program. A number of popular talks were organized along with science experiments and demonstrations. Several students showcased their innovative projects and poster presentations. Further, a number of activities such as open quizzes, extempore speech competitions, science skits, puppet shows and fancy dress events were also conducted. In addition, several departments were invited to exhibit their scientific activities to the students. NESAC stationed Space on Wheels bus during the event and demonstrated the components of space technology and how they are relevant to our day-to-day activities to more than 150 students.

A customised two weeks course for the Indo German Development Cooperation funded project “Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Adaptive Capacities of Forest Dependent Communities in Tripura” (CFEFLAT) supported by the Tripura Forest Department was organised during 21st April 2025 to 02nd May 2025 by the Forestry & Ecology Division. Twelve officials participated as the first batch of the training programme. The training focussed on the introductory lectures on basics concepts of remote sensing, GIS, image interpretations, map projections and digital image processing with emphasis on hands-on exercises on different aspects of forest cover and land use mapping.
