Half day seminar on “Enhancing Accountability through Geo-spatial Technology” was organized by the Office of the Principal Accountant General, Shillong in collaboration with NESAC on 24th Nov, 2024 as part of the Audit Diwas. The seminar was started with the opening remarks by the Shefali S Andaleeb Pr Accountant General (Audit). Shri CH Kharsiing, Pr Accountant General (A&E) has spoken on Role of the C&AG in ensuring Accountability of the Executive. Dr SP Aggarwal, Director, NESAC has given a talk on the role of Space Technology supports for the development of NE region. Dr Dibyajyoti Chutia, Head, GID made a presentation on the ICT enabled Geospatial Technology towards empowering Governance activities in NER while Shri Nilay Nishant, Scientist-SE, GID has given live demonstration on various Governance applications developed by NESAC.

A customised two weeks course for the Indo German Development Cooperation funded project “Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Adaptive Capacities of Forest Dependent Communities in Tripura” (CFEFLAT) supported by the Tripura Forest Department was organised during 21st April 2025 to 02nd May 2025 by the Forestry & Ecology Division. Twelve officials participated as the first batch of the training programme. The training focussed on the introductory lectures on basics concepts of remote sensing, GIS, image interpretations, map projections and digital image processing with emphasis on hands-on exercises on different aspects of forest cover and land use mapping.
