As per the Official Language Policy of the Government of India, Hindi workshop is organized every quarter. For this quarter, Shri M G Somshekaran Nair, Joint Director (Official Language), Department of Space, Headquarters, Bengaluru conducted the Hindi workshop. The topic of the workshop was “Official Language Implementation, Compliance and Official Language Policy-Rules in the Office” (30.05.2025). The workshop was inaugurated with the welcome address of the Junior Translation Officer in which she introduced Shri MG Somshekaran Nair, Joint Director (Official Language), Department of Space, Headquarters, Bengaluru. Dr. SP Agarwal, Director, NESAC welcomed the Chief Guest and gave his initial remarks. Director, NESAC highlighted the importance of use of official language in government offices. Joint Director, ISRO Headquarters conducted the workshop successfully, where all the participants took keen interest and put forward their views and queries. A customised two weeks course for the Indo German Development Cooperation funded project “Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Adaptive Capacities of Forest Dependent Communities in Tripura” (CFEFLAT) supported by the Tripura Forest Department was organised during 21st April 2025 to 02nd May 2025 by the Forestry & Ecology Division. Twelve officials participated as the first batch of the training programme. The training focussed on the introductory lectures on basics concepts of remote sensing, GIS, image interpretations, map projections and digital image processing with emphasis on hands-on exercises on different aspects of forest cover and land use mapping.
