The second meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, Shillong-2 for the year 2025-26 was held on Thursday, 29th January 2026 at the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Umiam. The main objective of the meeting was to review the progress in the use of Rajbhasha Hindi in the functioning of member offices and to discuss on the upcoming work plans. Dr. Vivek Kumar Singh, Chief Manager of SBI, delivered the welcome address, expressing heartfelt thanks and greetings on behalf of TOLIC to the Director of NESAC for hosting the important event. Further Dr. Singh provided information about the significance of TOLIC and the role of the committee in the promotion and use of Hindi.
The meeting was presided over by the then Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. S.P. Agrawal, Director, NESAC, along with the Deputy Director (Implementation) Shri Rajeev Kumar Nayak, Member Secretary & Assistant General Manager Shri Rajesh Chaturvedi. Director, NESAC, made a impressive presentation on various activities and achievements of NESAC, which was appreciated by all the participants present in the meeting. The meeting was attended by heads and Rajbhasha officers of Government of India offices in Guwahati and Shillong, as well as Rajbhasha officers from various public sector banks and undertakings. Shri Rajiv Kumar Nayak, Deputy Director (Implementation), Guwahati, reviewed the quarterly progress reports of all members and provided specific guidance on accurately filling them out. The committee also had a detailed discussion on future activities.
