NESAC celebrated weeklong 2nd International Day of Yoga (IDY) from 13 to 21 June 2016. As a preevent of IDY, a weeklong Yoga training and” Happiness Program” was conducted in association with “Art of Living, Shillong” under the supervision of Smti. Shamita Chakraverty. A series of invited talks were also conducted relevant to the subject. On the opening day, Physiotherapist from NEIGRIHMS, Dr. Darjee presented a talk on healthy lifestyle. Dr Himangshu Baruah, M.D. (Ayu), Medical Officer (Ayu), from North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy, Shillong (Ministry of Ayush), delivered a talk on ” Yoga: An art of healthy living” for the benefit of the NESAC staff on 17th June, 2016. In the closing ceremony held on 21st June 2016, Fr. (Dr.) Joseph Puthenpurakal SDB, Director, DON BOSCO Centre for Indigenous Cultures, Mawlai, Shillong, Meghalaya was invited as a Chief Guest and Dr. Joseph delivered a talk on “Yoga and Its Benefits”. Practical Yoga Session was also conducted on the closing day under supervision of faculty & HON’RARY SECRETARY, Art of Living (VVKI INDIA), Shillong.

A customised two weeks course for the Indo German Development Cooperation funded project “Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Adaptive Capacities of Forest Dependent Communities in Tripura” (CFEFLAT) supported by the Tripura Forest Department was organised during 21st April 2025 to 02nd May 2025 by the Forestry & Ecology Division. Twelve officials participated as the first batch of the training programme. The training focussed on the introductory lectures on basics concepts of remote sensing, GIS, image interpretations, map projections and digital image processing with emphasis on hands-on exercises on different aspects of forest cover and land use mapping.
